Introduction
This document contains the steps need to be followed to Create, Revert and Delete an VM Snapshot in VCenter.Create VM Offline Snapshot
Step 1: Login into VCenter Server Client
Step 2: Right-Click the VM, navigate to Power --> Power Off. Click Power Off to switch-off the VM to take an Offline snapshot.
Step 3: Right-Click the VM, navigate to Snapshot --> Take Snapshot. Click Take Snapshot to take an Offline snapshot. Provide Name and Description to the snapshot and Click OK
Step 4: Right-Click the VM, navigate to Power --> Power On. Click Power On to switch-on the VM.
Revert VM Snapshot
Step 1: Right-Click the VM, navigate to Power --> Power Off. Click Power Off to switch-off the VM for which the snapshot need to be reverted.
Step 2: Right-Click the VM, navigate to Snapshot --> Snapshot Manager. Select the specific snapshot need to be reverted and Click Goto. Once snapshot revert completed. Click Close to close the window.
Step 3: Right-Click the VM, navigate to Power --> Power On. Click Power On to switch-on the VM.
Delete VM Snapshot
Step 1: Right-Click the VM, navigate to Snapshot --> Snapshot Manager. Select the specific snapshot need to be deleted and Click Delete. POP-UP window will appear asking for the delete request confirmation. Click yes. Click Close to close the window.
